It's evident that this team is still too reliant on the home run.

I also read that Skeeter Barnes is the baserunning coach for the Rays too (I think it was Hal's blog). Sure are seeing a lot of names from the past these past couple of weeks.

Very nice game outcome and very enjoyable reading the game thread comments.

Three simple words: Fultz Metal Jacket
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

He was drafted during the O'Brien days. He has missed a lot of time over the past couple seasons with injury. He's just mid-minors organizational filler, but then again, the same was said about Ryan Hanigan at one point. Denove has great OBP skills, but unfortunately, his power falls way short.

He's got a good rep as a defender.

True for this game, but it's only the first of Spring Training. There was a potential run from of a single but Votto was thrown out at the plate.

I'll take runs/wins any way I can get them but I would like to see the Reds score more often without homers.

I think he's got a shot at making the OD roster if Gonzalez starts the year on the DL (likely).

Thanks, I'd never heard of the kid. Once I figured out he was a catcher, the camp invite made more sence.
