Who was the last REDS pitcher to collect 10 or more RBIs in a single season?
Who was the last REDS pitcher to collect 10 or more RBIs in a single season?
I just looked it up. It's neither Rijo nor Seaver.
.
Wow, I never woulda thunkit.
Hap is correct. In 1978 Paul Moskau had 11 RBIs. He also hit a HR in his 2nd career AB in 1977.
OK, here's a fairly easy one.
Who is the last Reds pitcher to pitch a complete game shutout in his first major league start (it was not his first appearance).
HINT: He was very mediocre with the Reds but enjoyed a great deal of success with two other teams.
.
Okay, I have a little bit of time to kill at work. Jared Burton set a record in 2010. What was it?

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
Here's a completely random one that nobody should know off the top of their heads:
In the 2000's, 3 Reds struck out 10 batters in a game in which the Reds lost. Name them.

Guys like Kyle Lohse, Brandon Claussen, Denny Neagle, and Ryan Dempster popped into my mind, so I went back and looked at their game logs on Baseball Reference, and sure enough, Ryan Dempster had a 10 strikeout game in a loss vs the Braves in May of 2003.
Harang's the only one I can think has to be on there, being here so long and having so many Ks.I know Volquez is one of them because I remember him striking out 13 batters in a game the Reds lost. I'm gonna guess Aaron Harang too because he had quite a few tough luck losses as a Red. As for the last one, I have no idea. I'm gonna have to think about it.

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou
