    2009 NFL Draft

I figured we could have a thread designated for the 2009 NFL draft. Feel free to discuss the picks that are made and what you think of them.

The Detroit Lions took Matt Stafford and signed him to a 6 year, $78 million contract with $41 million of it guaranteed.

The Rams, predictably, took Jason Smith.

The Kansas City Chiefs took Tyson Jackson, defensive end. Wow. I didn't see that coming.

Aaron Curry goes #4 to the Seahawks. It's looking more and more like the Bengals will get a tackle with their first pick.

Maybe Denver will trade up to get Sanchez.....and Bengals can get Oher and Mack...with the 2 1st round Denver picks.

The Browns traded their pick to the Jets. I think we're going to see Sanchez drafted.

Okay, so even Mike Brown can't possible screw this up, right? Take your pick, Monroe or Smith or I'd be happy to trade back a pick or two and still get one of them.

The Jets fan like this pick quite a bit more than previous picks.

I'm more worried about the second round pick. I'm worried that Brown will go for a HB or WR instead of a C.

    Re: 2009 NFL Draft

The Jets had to give up quite a bit to get the #5 pick.

    Browns receive:
    DE Kenyon Coleman
    QB Brett Ratliff
    S Abram Elam
    picks #17 & #52

    Jets receive:
    #5 (Sanchez)

Apparently the Jets fans didn't realize what they were giving up when they were cheering as the pick was made.

Will the Bungles take Crabtree, especially with TJ out? And Johnson eventually probably being traded?

Yeah, that's a really good move for the Browns, especially because they didn't have many picks in this draft to begin with.
