With the 24th pick in the 2009 NFL draft, the Atlanta Falcons will take
Because we were hoping Macklin would fall to us, but hey, no hard feelings.
Witty signature.
I will make my pick when I get home from work at 7am. I may get a chance to make it at work but if not it'll be up in the morning.
The Dolphins select Clay Matthews Jr, OLB, USC.
We as an organization feel that we needed to upgrade the LB core and feel Mr. Matthews brings great athleticism, size, and speed to the team. He has great family roots and comes from a good college program.
We felt he was the best player still on the board that filled one of our needs. We thought about getting a WR to go along with Ted Ginn, but all the receivers we felt worthy of being picked here are off the board. As well, CB was a thought at this pick but again no one at the DB position was available that would of made us not pick Clay.

Well, with Brandon Pettigrew gone, the Philadelphia Eagles will use the 28th pick to select -
Alex Mack, C, California
The New York Football Giants, robbed of a second consecutive Super Bowl win only by Plaxico Burress' stupidity, are faced with some interesting options. The two most highly rated players still left on the PBPA List (Puffy's Best Player Available List) are Tyson Jackson, DE from LSU and Peria Jerry, DT from Ole Miss. However, the New York Football Giants have spent the beginnings of the free agent season reinforcing our DL. First Rocky Bernard and then Chris Canty. Couple that with regaining Osi Umenyoura and that leaves us with 9 quality defensive linemen.
Our biggest need, LB, is probably not an option here because the rules of this bleeping mock are no @%#$!%#$ trades, thus we were not able to trade ahead of the Mighty Dolphins to take Clay Matthews, who we really like. Thus we are left with only Clint Sintim as a first/early second round talent, and he is more suited to a 3-4 defense in this humble talent evaluator's opinion.
Next up is probably WR, mostly because that idiot Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg whilst holding a drink and he happened to do it in the one city in the country run by the mighty midget Bloomberg who needs to compensate for his lack of height by interfering with my football team. Plax is probably headed to jail because Bloomberg won't allow a plea. Don't drop the soap Plax. For heaven's sake, please don't drop the soap. So receiver is a potential need, but late first rounders are a supreme crapshoot and while I like a couple of receivers, I'm probably better off waiting.
That brings us to the OLine. The New York Football Giants, robbed of a SB only by Plax and the premature ejaculation of his gun, have one of the two or three best lines in football. But adding depth is never a bad thing (an ex-girlfriend told me that) and both Tackle spots can be either upgraded (Diehl) or is getting up in age (McKenzie). Also, Shaun "I am 100% Irish and St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner - Erin Go Bragh" O'Hara is 32 and probably has only a couple more years at a high level.
The best linemen this humble talent evaluator has left on his board, thus, shall be the pick.
With the 29th selection of the first round of the 2009 Redszone Mock Draft (because no trades were allowed in this bleeping draft thereby eliminating any of the 3 USC linebackers) is Eben Britton, T, Arizona.

Interesting mock -- speaking as a Bucs fan, I really don't like the Larry English pick. I saw him play in college, I don't think there's a lot of untapped potential there. If they team were to be locked-in on the LB position, I'd rather see about trading down a few picks and grab Clay Matthews from USC or Barwin from UC.
