You know, I'm going to miss hearing him for some reason.

My High School had a broadcast radio station. In order to be a member, you had to take a radio class taught at the school and obtain your FCC license.

Our instructor had us listen to Paul Harvey each week in class in oder to teach us how to do our weekly newscasts. I remember those classes fondly.
Nothing to see here. Please disperse.

I remember listening to Paul and the "rest of the story" in the mornings on WLW while getting ready for school.

    RIP Paul.

Very sad. I always loved his report at noon on WLW.

I mostly remember listening to him as a child in the 1970's. An ICON no doubt.

    RIP

Paul was always good for a story or two while you drove across the country.

Wow. I knew he must've been up there in years because I remember hearing him as a kid on family trips. He was still on the radio here from time to time and my wife always commented that he must be quite the old-timer.

    RIP, Mr. Harvey!

    Re: Paul Harvey....good day

Mr. Harvey was 90 at the time of his death. I was not the biggest Harvey fan, but I must give him his due. He was a legend and institution.

On a lighter note, I was always amused during the "news and comment" segments by his use of "page 1, page 2", etc for each story----on page 2 or so would be a story about an accident of some sort to be followed up on page 3 by a spoken ad for Sears---- it would go along the lines of "Page 2, a man working in his yard was involved in an odd accident with his lawn mower and pet dog--Page 3, did you know that Sears sells the best in Craftsman tools and lawncare items?---its true!"

    RIP Paul, you deserve it.
