Juan Carlos Sulbaran just came in

    on MLB network.

Just blew away Pudge Rodriguez in a very high leverage at bat.

That kid has talent. Struck him out on three pitches. Fastball, curve, slider or sinker(not sure).

The Sox traded Bullfrog the only player they've got for Shottenhoffen. Four-eyes Shottenhoffen a utility infielder. They've got a whole team of utility infielders.

Oh, same here. I posted in the votto/usa thread. I didn't want to start a new one just for this. But regardless, that slider is downright NASTY. :O)

It was fantastic to watch Sulbaron on that stage. I'm nervous about Cueto and Volquez given the data from the SP having arm troubles after pitching in the WBC, but I have been riveted to the screen through the early stages.

Pasting this from the thread that Logan beat me too :

    I wrote:

The 19-year-old Reds farmhand pitcher, reputed to have a TON of upside, just entered a 1-0 game for the Dutch with runners at first and third and two outs to face Pudge.

And then struck him out on three pitches. A nasty fastball with late life for strike one and then two ridiculous sliders for swinging strikes to finish it off.

Absolutely wonderful moment in a game that the Dutch are still improbably leading.

Sulbaran was the one they got in the 30th round last year only because everyone thought he was going to college.

    That was a wonderful moment.

We should probably just start a thread for the WBC games in general. We've got so many prospects on so many different teams, one thread to update all of them would be helpful I'd think.

With that in mind, Votto is now 1 for 3 after a fly out to Chris Denorfia of all people. :O)

The excitement on Sulbaran's face was fantastic to watch. What a great and unexpected moment.

I was completely grumpy about this tournament five days ago, but as long as no one gets hurt, I am here to say I was dead wrong about it. It has been wonderful theater and at times VERY compelling.

    My sentiments exactly.

In spite of the risk to our young Dominican pitchers, it is great to be watching competitive baseball in early March.

    Selfish? Sure.

Get through this inning quick, 24 is coming on.

Uh-oh. Lead off double, HBP, then a grounder deflected off Juan's glove that would've been a double-play ball. Now it's bases loaded no outs. If he gets out of this unscathed, color me impressed.

Tough luck, what would have been a double play ball if Sulbaran doesn't get a glove on it, instead, a deflection and bases loaded with one out.

I am still loving what he is throwing in terms of stuff. A 19-year-old not nine months out of HS pitching in this spot is Disney movie kind of material.

I still can't believe that guy didn't try to score from third after Sulbaran threw the ball behind the hitter. Talk about poor judgement.

Looks like a hell of live arm.

Little wild (just threw one behind a hitter, c'mon, he's 19), but man, he's got "stuff."

Wow. Pops up Vazquez for the second out on the 10th pitch of the at-bat.

    Unreal.
