marty b talking about debut of Kent Mercker in the booth tomorrow. Should be interesting to hear Mercker, I think he may be good.

Kazmir stays in to face McDonald.

5609862th mention of "tired old ed smith stadium" from marty b. Only he enjoys that, I think.

    McDonald Ks.

    10-2 Rays after six.

Only three of those runs against Arroyo were earned. Hairston is brutal at SS.

The game w/in the game continues. Even in a blowout loss, interesting things to follow. For instance, Bill Bray on to pitch the 7th. The murmuring is that he is potentially facing demotion. So the inning is of importance for Bray.

One pitch, fly ball out to CF.

True, not a good play to start the inning.

Still.......14 hits. 14. Not a good day from Arroyo, regardless. Note, I am NOT worrying about the bad day, it's spring. But, not a good day.

Ground ball to SS goes right between the Hairston wickets, for another E-6.

3-1 pitch to next Rays hitter gets a fly to RF.

Two outs, the E-6 guy still on first.

    K ends the inning.

11-2 middle of 7. Or maybe 8. I've lost track.

    Re: 3/28/09 vs. Rays

Jerry Hairston and Jeff Keppinger have proven they aren't major league shortstops. If it comes down to Janish, Kepp, or Hairston at SS, I'd rather have Janish.

    Middle of 7.

And, yeah. I think Janish needs to be on this team, someway, somehow. If Alex G can't go some games, I don't want Hairston at SS in the late innings of a close game. Kepp either.
