mlbtraderumors: Dusty Baker to Step Down
By Tim Dierkes

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, Dusty Baker has stepped down as manager of the Cincinnati Reds. Baker cited disagreements with Reds GM Walt Jocketty regarding the team's roster as the cause for turning in his resignation. Jocketty reportedly refused to make an effort to obtain Juan Pierre as the starting left fielder, resulting in a disgruntled Baker, who says he will use the time off to be with family.

Replacing Baker as manager is Reds first base coach Billy Hatcher. Hatcher, 48, was a member of the 1990 Reds team that went on to win a World Series. No announcement has been made as to who will replace Hatcher as first base coach.
