    Orioles Acquire Robert Andino

Nothing has been announced, but according to 790 The Ticket, reserve infielder Robert Andino is being dealt to the Orioles for right-handed pitcher Hayden Penn.

The report was broadcasted by Josh Friedman of 790 The Ticket. The deal hasn't been announced, but a source told MLB.com that a trade was brewing.

Andino is out of options. The irony is Andino was working out with the Marlins on Wednesday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale in preparation for Florida facing the Orioles.

Hayden Penn was to be a big deal a couple years ago. They should have sold high on him.

I think they might have if the guy had stayed healthy. I think he's almost their version of Homer Bailey who has all the potential in the world but couldn't always put things together (this spring aside for Homer). Hayden's been a bit 'snake bitten' over the last few years with having random non baseball related injuries (appendicitis when they first tried to bring him up, hurt himself doing something random at his condo, etc) so they've never seen the real Hayden in the majors. They gave him more than enough chances in this spring training to get a rotation spot and he hasn't delivered so I guess they decided not to include him in their rebuilding plans. My guess is they think he could use a change of scenery to see if he can figure things out. The O's could use some young infielders too so we'll see how this trade goes for both clubs.
