Angry Guy" Richard Skinner sues Cumulus

In Cincinnati, Skinner was part of of the “Two Angry Guys” morning show at “96.5 Rock” WFTK until Cumulus laid him off in November. The station continued using the show name for 3-½ months, but Skinner claims he'd registered it himself, with the Ohio Secretary of State. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the suit and says Skinner and Tom Gamble began the “Two Angry Guys” act in 1995, at an AM station then named “Bob” WBOB. Skinner says the continued use of “Two Angry Guys” by Cumulus constituted an unfair trade practice and “trademark dilution.”

Perhaps Skinner should use a more appropriate moniker for their show, called "Two Whining Morons".

I could not stand listening to them in the morning, and was relieved when I could finally switch over and listen to Mike & Mike. All they did was complain while not speaking intelligently about sports. It got old, fast.

Still, if they're unfairly using his intellectual property, they should pay. That's one of the few lawsuits you'll actually see filed in business. Intellectual property is king. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
