Another thing to keep in mind, this was known back in January by Memphis. I would also bet that Mrs. Bell caught it as well. Do you think Kentucky would have made a full fledged run at Cal and Memphis would have fought us tooth and nail to keep Cal since both parties likely knew about this?
Everybody's favorite Wildcat, Mr. Saul Smith:
“Bad bad day for my alma mater,” Smith wrote. “The UK athletic program will never regain its true champion nature with Businessmen running it. Never, no matter how many so called blue chip players you bring in. You can’t sacrifice your integrity for success. You just can’t do it. I’m an alum and I deserve a clean-ran program, plain and simple. Period, and if anyone disagrees, you, my friend, shouldn’t support the program I played 4.”
Hahahaha, a true clown. I guess nepotism doesn't affect integrity, in his opinion?
Talk about someone who should keep his mouth shut.
Darwin Award winner.
Since I don't know anything, according to WilyMo, you can disregard my thoughts.
If 1 happened without 2 and 3 then I would say the fault lies within the NCAA clearing house and also the SAT. IMO if Memphis knew nothing then there really isn't a NCAA violation. The problem becomes if Memphis knew about it how does Cal not? Mo on 1530 homer says it better than I can.
-If you're a UK fan, you love the swagger that John Calipari has brought back to the program. You love the recruits he's brought and the excitement he's ushered in. You hang on every work of his great press conferences. You subscribe to his Twitter feed.
You also inevitably deal with this. Memphis is handling accusations of "knowing fraudulence or misconduct" on Derrick Rose's SAT, and of cash being paid to an "associate"of a player. Not good. John Calipari might have nothing to do with it, and he might. We'll see. But the fact of the matter is that the Final Four he took UMass to in 1996 has been removed from the record books, and the Final Four he took Memphis to in '08 faces possibily the same fate. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.. But isn't bad enough that we even have to wonder?
I would say his knowing about the allegations in January would make sense. Now we know why Kentucky was his "dream job".
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.
