All,

Effectively immediately, GIK and I have decided to make a few tweaks to the existing rules we had for Sun Deck members gaining access to post in the Old Red Guard forum. The procedures are as follows:

  • A user that applies for ORG access must be a registered member for a minimum of three months and have 150 posts. There is no longer different criteria depending on whether or not you apply or are nominated.
  • To gain membership, a candidate must receive at least 70% of no less than 30 total ORG member votes. The voting will be done in the form of a hidden poll that will run for one week. Before the poll begins, ORG users will have seven days to discuss the candidate's qualifications before the thread is closed a separate voting thread will be added. An administrator will then post a message to indicate that the discussion period has ended and replies should no longer be made.
  • Regardless of the method that the voting is done, the same user can only be voted on as follows: no wait time for the first nomination/application (other than the minimum post/registration requirements), a minimum of three months before the second nomination/application, another minimum of three months before the third nomination/application and finally, six months before a fourth nomination/application. However, a user may only be voted on a maximum of three times in a year. This is so that sufficient time passes and so that the user's posts can be reviewed before another vote take place. Additionally, we reserve the right to reject any nomination if the member prefers to apply when he or she is ready.
  • Once you have met the minimum post/registration requirements, you may apply for Old Red Guard posting access by selecting the Group Memberships link within your User Control Panel.

If you have any questions about the process, please private message GIK or I.
