Being the Admin for the site, I'm calling shenanigans on Boss-Hog. He's clearly fiddled with the numbers to make him a winner.

Indeed. And I'll be kind of pollyanna-ish: a testament to not rolling over and dying. This team shouldn't have won 70 games, but they blew that benchmark out of the water. Proud of this squad.

Now go pick Halladay off the bones of the Blue Jays and bring home some hardware in '10.

    Yes, yes I am.

I figured around .500 but I thought some decent pitching would push us over the top. I was wrong on the optimism.

But I will start the 2010 predictions with 85 right now.

I'll see your 85 and raise you 4. The injury bug simply CAN'T hit us as hard next year. So I'll stick with what I picked for this year. 89

Yup. Especially proud of guys like Bailey and Stubbs who made the most of their opportunities as the season wore on.

Now, it's time for the team to get creative and find a way to bring a couple more players into town.

    I had 79, so close.

In honor of gonelong, let's see the Reds get that W, so his 78 comes true
I'm 3 off combined for the last 3 years, hitting both 2007 and 2009 on the head. IIRC.

    Not bad.

    And, I believe, 27-13.

At one time I figured they needed to go 19-21 to finish at 70 wins, which looked out of the question.

It was an amazing finish. Good pitching, great defense and some overdue luck made a big difference.

I believe the the ORG had an average of 79 wins for this year. So overall, we were pretty close.

(If you guys had just not allowed me to enter the ORG, my 84 win prediction would not have counted and I believe the average would have been on the nose with 78. So it's your fault for voting me in.)

My guess of 68 looked pretty good for much of August, but I'm glad it was really too low instead of too high.
