I approved thread now, since it's a day game, with probably a limited group of participants. Enjoy.

They sure are giving the Darnell McDonald story plenty of chances at a happy ending. Gracious.

Is this game not being televised on FSN?
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

So, the excuse was we need McDonald to play CF while Taveras was out. Now that he is in LF, what is the excuse for keeping him over Jonny Gomes?
"On-base percentage is great if you can score runs and do something with that on-base percentage," Baker said. "Clogging up the bases isn't that great to me."

Dickerson should get at bats against both righties and lefties if you're not going to have a LEGIT platoon partner.

Maybe McDonald can surprise us, but I'm not counting on it.

Reds aren't comfortable with Jonny Gomes playing in the outfield, presumably.

The Reds will never win with Dusty Baker. Any winning they do will be despite of Dusty Baker.

Did they watch McDonald play the outfield on Opening Day?
    I miss Adam Dunn.

In the pregame show, Dusty says they're on the honor sytem. If Bronson says he's ok to go, then he's ok to go. He says it's up to the player to let him know if something's wrong.

    We'll find out.

I don't feel good about this game. The Mets have a lefty heavy lineup which is a bad matchup for Arroyo, plus Arroyo always seems to struggles during day games.
    I miss Adam Dunn.
