Oh my. This is quite sad and depressing. Best to his family and the Angels organization...

Just read it on rotoworld and couldn't believe it. What awful news.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

    Just absolutley stomach-churningly awful news.

I watched him pitch last night. Six shutout innings against the A's, worked out of several jams. Plenty of close-ups on his face by the cameras. He was SO young.

Wow! Sort of just makes me want to go home and hug my kids. Prayers to his family.

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident

    This is just so sad.

Adenhart was the Angels #1 prospect, and was coming off a six inning shutout performance last night. Kid had a bright future ahead of him. This is so sad.

Re: Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident

This is just awful news. Here is the full story of what happened:

    FULLERTON (AP) ―

Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart was one of three people killed early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Fullerton.

The crash took place only hours after the 22-year-old pitcher played in last night's Angels game.

Police say the driver of a minivan ran a red light in Fullerton and struck two cars, killing three people in a Mitsubishi and critically injuring a passenger.

Police Lt. Craig Brower says the minivan driver fled the crash scene and was captured a short time later. The driver was arrested and booked for investigation of felony hit-and-run.

Police say the van ran the red light early Thursday and struck the gray Mitsubishi, which then slammed into a light pole. Two people in the Mitsubishi died instantly, and a third died at a hospital a short time later.

A fourth occupant was in critical condition at UC Irvine Medical Center in
    Orange.

OMG, how horrible. My heart breaks for his family and friends as well as the Angels family. What devastating news.

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

It's posted on Sun Deck that another member of the Angels organization was killed in the crash. Doesn't specify whether it was a player or not.
