Re: Monday 4/13/09 Minor League updates

Heisey is a little old for the league, but he's got the look of a guy who could be a useful 4th OF or stopgap starting CF and leadoff guy in the Clark/Denorfia mold. You've got to love that 32/34 SB ratio last year. I suppose that implies that the Reds will let hit sit in the minors for the next 2 years, give him a sporadic shot to contribute at the major league level, and them release him or trade him for a PTBNL...
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    I'm not a system player. I am a system.

Yeah, I just felt like giving somebody a hard time. I think it's only a matter of time before Barker or Bankston is traded for cash considerations.

Stubbs flies out to the track to end the inning. Bats are hitting the ball hard, they just keep finding leather instead of grass.

An Adam Rosales makes a throwing error on a DP that leads to a Toledo run coming in. 4-1 Bats are losing.

Drew Stubbs dropped a pop up the same inning that Adam had the throwing error. The Bats should've coasted through that inning, instead it turned into a nightmare.

Also, while long-tossing w/the Bullpen catcher, Gomes through a LASER that went over the catcher's head and bounced around the stands!!! Good thing there wasn't very many people at the park tonight, that one would've hurt someone!

Thats not entirely accurate. Stubbs never touched that ball. He just lost it in the lights/clouds.
