Good thread.

The part on your plate and not on mine.
Can't speak for WOY - but I went "sort of" vegetarian for Lent (I eat animal by-products and fish) and still haven't had any real meat yet... but back to the topic... never really cared that much for chicken. One of the great dishes I've had at one of the chain restaurants is fantastic w/o chicken and that's the Bruschetta Chicken Pasta at TGIF!

Vegetarian, I quit Beef and Pork 21 years ago and then chicken and fish 4 years later, they tend (IMO) to taste like whatever is on it so I found them superfluous to my dining experience... but that's me, I just don't care for chewing meat, I like the smell, I like the process and I actually manage any meat that does enter our house, trim the fat, prepare it and cook it.
Then I eat something else myself while the wife gnaws on the flesh.
As for the bird, I always liked the boneless breast, pounded flat, season and dipped in egg and breadcrumbs and wrapped around a nice hunk of pepperjack and baked for 25 minutes.
Legs and the dark meat is for the stews and broth as they render better due to the higher fat content.
I voted for thighs. As WOY said, they are great for braised dishes like Chicken Cacciatora but I also like to saute them quickly and then slowly cook with a skillet of onions. The flavors mix nicely. Or, remove the skin, dip them in an egg wash and bread them with a mixture of bread crumbs, oregano, black pepper and parmesan cheese and bake them in the oven. All easy, all tasty.

The sandwich
Wow. I'm pretty surprised by this poll. I assumed everyone liked breasts.
I like the whole thing. I usually smoke a couple each year which is a beautiful thing. I'll also grill whole chickens "beer can" style and then make chicken broth with the carcass. Good eats.
WMR likes the breasts...
Yep. Smoking a chicken on the grill is a terrific way to go. Rally nice flavor (and easy too).
As for everyone liking breasts, I like to make chicken picatta or saute them and melt mozzarella cheese over them and make a sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mayo on a deli roll.

I prefer grilled breasts.
