It's weird that the Reds were able to win close games on the recent road trip and then appear to be in such a molasses funk immediately upon returning home.
"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner

Not much Ramon could do on that hit-and-run attempt, either. The Braves put the ball in a place where it was nearly impossible to make contact.

I'm glad Janish is playing today. I wish Hanigan was also playing but I'll try not to be greedy since he seems to have gotten his one day of playing time yesterday.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing. It was a decent catch but he added some Jim Edmonds flavor to it.

Chipper's made pretty good contact in his two ABs against Owings. I'm a little worried about the next time he comes up.

I'm glad they explained the Pythag thing because I haven't understood it at all and I think I finally have a grasp on it.
