it might be, its still breaking 12-6. Its coming in like a change almost but dropping either to the knees or out of the strike zone.

No such luck. Jukich gives up the run.

Mudcats give up 3 so far in the 7th and trail 4-3. Lutz is not impressive.

I don't even care about that run. 2 BB/15 K is very, very impressive.

Would that curve go over with these terrible ball/strike umpires in the majors?

I do not think these guys can call anything a strike but a pitch down the middle.

Poor Travis Wood. He has allowed 2 earned runs all season and is about to be 0-3 with a sub 1.00 ERA.

Cody Puckett has a HR for Dayton, his 3rd.

I'm hope they go easy on Bailey next start. I'm not going to get too worked up over 119 this time out, but they need to be real cautious with an eye for fatigue next time out. Bailey seems like the kind of guy that will pitch until his arm falls off if they let him.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I agree. I was hoping they would pull him after six innings.

Now there is the Homer Bailey we've been waiting for since his great 2006 season. Awesome start, hope this is a sign of things to come.

Great game for Homer. Let's see more consistency from that curve ball and he'll be up here in no time.
