Pfffttt! Warren Spahn and Early Wynn would laugh in the face of 119 pitches! :

Good to see this from Homer, hoping we can get some consistency from him now on.

    Matt Fairel's last two starts:

    13 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 20 K

Very impressive. He's worth keeping an eye on - a big lefty at 6-foot-3 and 203 pounds and only 21 years old. The Reds obviously like him or else they wouldn't have given him fourth round money.

He got a good rhythm going with Louisville catcher Craig Tatum and was self-deprecating about Dusty Ryan's leadoff homer in the fourth.

"The one time I shook [Tatum] off all game, it was a homer," Bailey said. "But all four pitches were working for me. My fastball stayed down coming out of my hand. To me, it seems like every game, I've just gotten better."

His previous career high was 11 strikeouts, accomplished three times in the Minors, most recently on Aug. 13, 2006 for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts.

Bats last 5 games: (including 4/22 through 4/26)

    Barker .538

    Rosales .474
    Bankston .471
    Gomes .444

    Bolivar .357
    Hopper .333
    Dorn .300
    Stubbs .300

    Valaika .280
    Richar .231

    Castillo .100
    Tatum .083

Obviously, we need a catcher who can hit. Give us Hanigan back?

BTW, GOYA, I'd just like to say that I enjoy reading your posts. You do a great job with the updates. Same with GIDP. Both of you do a good job. It's nice having some new posters on this side of the board.

Thanks, OBM. I'm glad to be here. I'm a Reds fan for the past 35 years but it's a lot easier being a Bats fan these days. I'd have no problem gutting the Bats if it would do any good for the big league club. It kills me seeing Hanigan up there on the bench so much when he could be contributing more.

BTW, I should be at the Bats game tomorrow if anyone wants a eyewitness account of anything or anyone.

I hate to spread rumors, but if they're taking Heisey out of a game early, perhaps that indicates a roster move?

yea but he had to be injured or something, because they wouldn't just pinch-hit for their best hitter.
