Tuesday April 28th, 2009 minor league updates

It isn't official yet but it looks like a rainout. Maybe they will make it up on tomorrow's scheduled day off.

There's a steady farmer's rain and it doesn't look like it will clear up any time soon.

edit: I could be wrong - it looks like their going to try and get the game in. I just checked radar and they will likely have to have a couple of delays during the game if they start at the now scheduled 11:40 start time.

Gomes with a 3-run HR after a Stubbs double and a Rosales HBP. Bankston just missed a HR on the previous AB with a deep drive to dead center.

It is interesting to see Rosales at SS. Maybe they are hoping he looks solid and he can come up and be a guy who could start at 3B and SS multiple times a week? Bankston is impressing me as well, I think we might of gotten a diamond in the rough as he is still young and he is just mashing in Triple A.

The top 4 in the Carolina lineup are all interesting to me as well.

Drew Stubbs starting to catch fire? 7-16 with 2 doubles, 2 walks and 2 K's since coming back after being out about a week.

Juan Francisco is 2-for-2 with a triple. He was 3-for-4 with a walk last night, so hopefully he's getting ready to go on a tear.

Cozart draws a two out walk and Francisco follows with a 2-run homer! Francisco is 3-for-3 with a single, triple, and a homer (#4). 4-2 Carolina in the 5th inning.

Francisco needs a double for the cycle.
    I miss Adam Dunn.
