C Trent's latest post on his website says this...

    Wait a Second…
We’re in a holding pattern. Stay tuned.

This was after a post stating that he had been laid off. Interesting.

Also gone are talk show producers Travis Holmes and Mark Chalifoux.

Mo Egger is like the kiss of death haha. Everyone who produces him or becomes his co host gets the axe.

It's a shame that they are cutting local sports radio to the bone.

Always liked Mark when he would join Mo on air. I think they talked about him getting married soon. bad enough getting the axe, but right before your wedding must be awful.

Feel bad for Mo, too. Looks like he has a job, which is good, but is losing his own show. Definite step back in his career.

Wasn't Cutler on the air this morning? Seems like an awful quick ax. I won't miss him. I'm amazed he's kept that gig that long. Ditto for P Doc

In this day and age, sports information can be had from everywhere. Just look at Trent's own website where he reels off 4 to 5 services to get informed. It's a double edged sword having so many outlets available to the sports fan and companies like Clear Channel get that sense when they have to evaluate their current state of things.

Yeah, I was listening to him coming into work this morning. I wonder who they will get to do Extra Innings on weeknights.

Mo Egger stays at Clear Channel, but lost his 9 am-noon show. C. Trent says Lance will do stay at 3-6, then do "SportsTalk" until Reds games. When Reds don't play a night game, Mo will do the 3-6 p.m. weekday show, and Lance will do 6-9 p.m. on WLW-AM. C Trent also says two WCKY-AM talk show producers were laid off too. Syndicated shows will fill the day, probably from Fox Sports, since ESPN is on Clear Channel's 1360.

    Dang
Now we get to hear more talk about the Red Sox and Yankees hooray.

Dunno. There's probably a reason he only does it on weekends. Maybe Lance will do it since he's doing the pregame too but he's got kids I'm sure he wants to spend time with and not be cooped up in the studio from noon to midnight.

If he wants to keep his job, Mo Egger will.

Just not a good time to be in radio.

2:45 p.m. update: Scott Sloan, whose 9 p.m.-midnight show is pre-empted by the Reds for six months, just told Bill Cunningham's audience that he'll do the "Extra Innings" post-game call-in show tonight, instead of Doc. Don't know if that's permanent; it could be. Still haven't heard from any Clear Channel execs, and probably won't. Nothing yet on anyone from the FM side.
