Ben (Centerville, OH): Todd Frazier has started out the year raking for the Reds AA team in Carolina. If the Reds current platoon in LF doesn't start to produce more, could we see Frazier up in Cincinnati by the all-star break if he continues to hit the ball well?
Ben Badler: (2:02 PM ET ) It's possible, and Frazier is growing into one of my favorite unconventional types after watching him play this year. The arm bar in his swing is pronounced, but he generates so much torque in his swing that he's able to drive the ball with authority, and he's had no problems putting the barrel to the ball this year in Double-A.

What's an "arm bar" in a swing?
I thought that was a jiu-jitsu move!
Frazier's front arm straightens long before his bat crosses the zone. Some people say that it should make it difficult to have a fluid motion with the bat toward the ball. It drives hitting instructors nuts sometimes, but I've seen a lot of successful hitters do the same thing. I think people are annoyed by it just because it's unconventional and looks awkward.
I like Frazier quite a bit, but I'm actually wondering if there's something to be worried about in his having no home runs in his first 75 at-bats.
