    I can't believe it.

I predicted a 4th round KO by Manny, and I thought I was pushing it. I kinda knew Hatton had no chance in this fight, but to go only 2 rounds?

If anything, this is good news though. The Pacquiao/Mayweather fight is all but set in stone now.

^ I wouldn't go that far. I know it's conventional wisdom and makes sense to assume that, but Floyd ducks fights like no other. Even if he wanted Pacquiao for sure, he does have to get through Juan Manuel Marquez, who, along with Mayweather and Pacquiao themselves, is one of the three best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

If Floyd beats JMM, and decides he wants to fight Manny, the stars align for this to be in December, as that's when they try to have THE big fight of the year, it seems.

You and me both know Mayweather is going to breeze through Marquez.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I'm by no means a boxing expert, but Mayweather is returning from a bit of a layoff, and Marquez nearly beat Pacquiao (and some argue DID beat Pacquiao) in both of their matchups.

I don't know that. Marquez is going to hit Mayweather cleaner than he's ever been hit before and Marquez has plenty of chin. Marquez is easily the best fighter Mayweather's been in the ring with.

Eh, probably. Marquez is a pretty tough cat though... I know he's moving up in weight for the fight, but not like Mayweather is a giant welterweight himself... he probably could still quite easily make 135. That's the funny thing about this Mayweather/Marquez/Pacquiao triumvirate. All are easy 135ers but taking these fights amongst each other at 143-147.

^ That's what I'm saying. Everyone wants to see Pacquiao-Mayweather, sure; but I would not complain one iota to see Pacquiao-Marquez III. The two best pound-for-pound boxers in the world (along with Floyd) and maybe the two most exciting to boot. Plus we wouldn't have to worry about Marquez having to "consider" taking the fight for a while like you possibly would Mayweather (though he'd likely take it since it's a super big money fight and he enjoys fighting guys moving up in weight to face him).

    Either way.... sign me up.

    Re: Pacquiao vs Hatton

Marquez is just a more glorified version of Hatton. He's better at locating his punches than Hatton, but other than that, they're almost identical.

Mayweather not only has a devasting check hook, but he's one of the best technicians in boxing today, certainly better than Marquez atleast. I still don't see Marquez having any sort of shot against Mayweather. It's a couple months away from the fight so the hype is starting to build, but I don't see it being anything more than a Hatton/Mayweather fight part duo.
