No Bill Hall, so that's one in the Reds' favor before the game even gets started.
    Hope isn't a strategy

    That lineup is depressing.

Take away Bruce, Phillips, and Votto, and the rest of the lineup has a combined total of 54 major league home runs.

Don't worry, he'll come off the bench at the end of the game with the game winning hit.

Yeah, I just glanced out the front door and see a steady spring shower coming down. Not heavy, but enough to delay the game I think. Hopefully it will pass within the half hour or so. I'm about six miles north of downtown.

Wow, you started early tonight. Stop and take a deep breath. Janish is at SS. Good news. Hanigan is behind the plate. Good news. Brandon's starting to swing the bat. Good news. Hairston isn't at short. Good news. Bruce isn't still languishing in the minors. Good news. Arroyo's pitching and the sun's going down soon. Good news. And if all that's not enough for you to perk up....Joey Votto is still walking among the mortals. :O) Cheer up OBM...you're starting to depress even me. *grin*

So, I guess I'm supposed to lie and say the offense is fine?

I'm thrilled that the Reds are 14-12, but no matter how you want to slice it, the offense needs to be upgraded.

    Yes. Yes you are. :O)

You're still too young to realize it yet, but self-delusion is really the only way to true happiness. *grin*

Seriously though, I bet we put up double digits in hits and score 6 runs. Confidence on a young club is like a virus. As long as Bronson doesn't allow several runs early on, I see us dominating the Brew Crew tonight.

Hope you are right, but I have a terrible feeling about tonight. That said, I'm usually wrong.

Latest update from Fay's blog is the game won't start before at least 7:50.

McDonald playing against the lefty instead of Rosales. That's the unusual part of the lineup tonight. Florida consistenly got Rosales out with pitches high in the strike zone.
