STUBBS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: OF Drew Stubbs (Louisville) today was named International League Player of the Week for 5/4-5/10...in 7 games for the week, Stubbs batted .423 with a .615 slugging pct...he led the league with 5 doubles and 6 steals (7 attempts)...for the season,he’s batting .329 (27-82) with 10 doubles, a .409obp and 10 stolen bases.
CO-CONSPIRACY? Birmingham’s C.J. Retherford today was named Southern League Player of the Week for 5/4-5/10 after batting .381 (8-21) with 2 HR, 11 RBI, 3 doubles, a triple and 4 runs scored in 5g...for the week he ranked among league leaders in RBI (1st), slugging (1st, .905), HR (T1st) and extra-base hits (2nd, 6)...Carolina’s Chris Heisey probably isn’t happy about it, as he batted .478 (4th) with 11 hits (T3rd), 4 doubles (T2nd), a .538obp (4th), a .783 slugging pct (4th) and 5 extra-base hits (T3rd) in 6g...it also should be noted that Carolina’s Eric Eymann led the league last week in batting average (.529).

Drew Stubbs reached on an error on a grounder to third, then stole third after getting to second on a FC.
