    Trade Idea with Cleveland!

Well here goes, I want to see what everyone thinks about this move to upgrade the LF situation. The Indians are struggling and their bullpen is a mess, so here is my proposal to help both teams:

    Indians trade:

1)Ben Francisco(LF) RH bat(28) that we need in lineup, had 32 doubles and @ 15 homers last year, off to a slow start, but trading him frees up a spot for LaPorta.

    Reds trade:

1)Bill Bray(LHRP) young lefty reliever to stabilize there bullpen
2)Josh Roenicke(RHRP) hate to get rid of but is 26, and throws hard and is ready for the majors.

    Thoughts?

No thanks. I can live with a combination of Nix, Dickerson, Hairston and the Triple A options. I would rather hold onto Bray and Roenicke since Rhodes and Weathers won't be around for too much longer.

Francisco wasn't a great prospect because he always played old for his level. And in a full season's worth of PAs in the Majors his career line is .264/.328/.432. Gimme Nix and Gomes, please...

Sign me up. Bray's injury history is not impressive. Roenicke has never really impressed me. His control is questionable and he's getting older.

He'd be a great platoon partner for Nix.

With that said, Indians won't go for that i don't think.

I'll take Gomes and Nix over giving up 2 relievers for a comparable player.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Yeah I want a better player than that in a deal - I'd rather just keep Nix and Gomes.

On MLB Trade Rumours they said Mark DeRosa could be a trade canidate.. i would like the Reds to get him.. he hits in the clutch and he could play LF and can play super utility as well when any infielder needs a day off.. The Cubs I bet regret letting him go!!

Bray/ Or Roenicke and a lower prospect for him??

When you make a deal in a problem area you should be pretty sure it will actually solve the problem. It was the mistake Krivsky kept making in 2006. WK tried throwing stuff against the wall and seeing if anything it would stick ... a sure way to set yourself up for failure.

I'm not a big fan of trading for Willingham but Fransisco makes me wish we had Josh on the squad.
