    5/15/09 Reds vs Padres

    per fay:

    Reds vs. Padres:

    Willy Taveras cf
    Jerry Hairston Jr. 3b
    Joey Votto 1b
    Brandon Phillips 2b
    Jay Bruce rf
    Ramon Hernandez c
    Laynce Nix lf
    Alex Gonzalez ss
    Aaron Harang p

    vs. RH Kevin Correia

    Two other notes:

--I saw Votto on my way in to Petco. He said he's not quite 100 percent but he was good enough to play.

--The starters for the Philly series are listed as Johnny Cueto, Micah Owings and Aaron Harang. Owings was before Cueto in the rotation. Looks like they'll flip-flop them to keep Cueto on his turn.

Wow, 55K from Aaron Harang for that field. That's awesome.

Easy 1-2-3 first inning for Correia.

Hairston lines to LF and Votto does the same to RF.

Hoping Harang only goes 6 or 7 tonight, so he can pitch out of the bullpen Saturday and Sunday....

Giles grounded out to Phillips on a 1-0 pitch.

Eckstein lined out to Hairston on 1-1.

Dusty, you're not supposed to be managing and posting at the same time.

Gonzalez homers. His 5th straight game with a HR.

Gonzalez homers. Jeez. Why even give him anything good to hit.

Anyone else have a crappy feeling about this series? Looking at the pitching matchups, the Reds should win 2 of 3 but... I was confident the Reds were going to win the Arizona series but I don't feel very good about this series. Hope I'm wrong.

Boy, Gonzos HR totals the last 3 years are nowhere near what he did coming up.....and in a pitchers park.

It's like he's gotten really strong the last few years.
