Again, unacceptable. Shouldn't they look at the schedule and just cancel Arroyo in day games? He should have pitched last night and Dusty could have Owings for today.

Phillips saved Arroyo from giving up 2 more runs.

    Bottom 4th:

Bronson scatters a strikeout, a flyout, and a lineout around three walks. Luckily, no runs for the Padres.

I tend to look at stats like that very skeptically but, I have to admit, it seems to be happening too often for it not to have some validity. It was (just a tiny part) of why I didn't want to drive to SD to watch Bronson Arroyo.

Or, is it the Reds making Peavy make it look easy?

15 in a row by Peavy...59 pitches, which by my count, means a 9 pitch 5th by Jake

Yes, and at under 12 pitches per inning, he'll be able to do it for at least 10 innings.

If you knew me you'd know I can't sing and you would spare yourself that kind of torture.

Great at-bat by Gerut. Bronson in closing in on being done. Perhaps I was too harsh on him, he has just given up 5 hits and 2 runs so far.

BA at 87 pitches through 5.

    Pads still lead 2 - 0

Reds still stuck with 1 hit.
