For those not following the game, playing for the Tides are Jolbert Cabrera and former farmhand, Justin Turner.

Homer has 3 Ks through 2 innings.

Homer had been pitching at a 67% strike rate and suddenly threw 5 balls in a row. Ted Power went to the mound and Homer struck the batter out on the next 3 pitches.

    Sounds like mechanics to me.

    Sarasota lost 6-1.

    Reed: 0-for-4
    Alonso: 1-for-4
    Soto: 0-for-4
    Buchholz: 1-for-3
    Mesoraco: 1-for-2 double, HBP

    Gil: 4.2 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 6 K

    Krebs: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 3 K

    Beal: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K...season debut

Josh Beal pitched in Billings last season and posted a 2.60 ERA and 9 BB/43 K in 27.2 innings. He's only 21 years old, so he's a relief propsect worth keeping an eye on.

Absolutely. Since that visit, Homer has thrown 9 strikes and 1 ball. He gets a 1-2-3 3rd inning.

Homer gives up a run on a single, a walk and a double that should have been ruled a single and an error. He also picked up another K.

    2-0 Tides

A little offense would be nice.

Is it time to start worrying about Danny Dorn? He's had as bad a start to the season as I could imagine.

If Fairel would have gone back to FSU instead of signing with the Reds, does anyone have a guess of where he'd be projected to go in this year's draft?

    Richar: 2-for-3 triple
I was at the game last night and Richar got hurt on that triple and had to come out of the game. Not sure exactly what happened but he slid into 3rd base head first, called time and was writhing on the ground in quite a bit of pain. After a few minutes, he got up but was limping pretty badly. Hope it's nothing too serious.
