Are The Reds Really Starting Owings Tomorrow Night??

Micah Owings is still listed as tomorrow's probable starter. This can't be right can it? They aren't really going to start him on three days rest after throwing six innings in relief on the prior three days rest are they?

    Any information?

I think he's been pushed back to Thursday.

Owings moves back after relief outing: From the The Sports Xchange: RHP Micah Owings won't make his scheduled Wednesday start against the Phillies because he pitched 5 2/3 innings in relief Saturday against the Padres in a 16-inning game. Owings retired the first nine, but eventually gave up a two-out game-ending home run to C Nick Hundley in the 16th.

Harang will probably start. Because of Monday's day off, it will be on his normal rest.

    11 Arroyo
    12 Owings
    13 Cueto
    14 -----
    15 Harang
    16 Volquez
    17 Arroyo
    18 ----- (off day)
    19 Cueto
    20 Harang
21 Volquez (if his back spasms allow)

The Reds knew that back in San Diego and that's why Dusty said Owings could pitch out of the pen. It wasn't luck, it was paying attention to your staff and your schedule.

I feel like I have to heap praise on them for not doing the absolutely insane thing. Says something about this organization.
