I think the concern with Maualuga was that he perhaps he wouldn't play every down.
Something definitely happened, because his stock dove quite a bit. I thought he was considered a top-10 at one point. Sometimes when that happens to a player it motivates him even more. For the Bengals sake, hope that is the case.

The other problem I have read is that he pretty much was a free roamer at USC. He pretty much is a MLB that bullrushes the QB.

However guys like Ray Lewis have made a pretty good career of doing whatever whenever.
