    Beat me to it.

Good move. With the uncertainty with Phillips, Castillo gives us that extra body we may need.

No surprise. I personally was hoping Bailey would pitch well. Even if he had, more than likely he would still be headed back to Louisville.
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

It's a good decision to move him back down, he just can't deliver. Everyone loves him but he just doesn't deliver. Everything was set for him, almost any pitcher could have held on with that offense, I also feel Dusty should have pulled him much sooner. Every game is an important game, this thing about playing for .500 is, I don't know how to say it, but it's ridiculous!

Brandon Phillips with a hairline fracture in his thumb

Brandon Phillips just told us he has a hairline fracture in the tip of his right thumb. In clubhouse, he was wearing a splint. X-rays showed the break this morning, Phillips said.

He said he wants to play through it but should miss at least a couple days. Reds haven't said anything yet.

"I told them I don't want to go on the DL," Phillips said. "I feel like I can play with it."

Phillips took a groundball off the thumb in the eighth inning last night, and left the game.

"It's not surprising," Bailey said this morning in the Reds clubhouse. Bailey allowed six runs in 4 1/3 innings last night but said he felt he'd be headed back down anyway, even if he had pitched well.

"I don't think it would have mattered," said Bailey, who filled in for Edinson Volquez (DL/back spasms).

Bailey said he will go down and keep at it:
"Mentally it doesn't change anything. I've done this before."

Terrific. They are going to play with a man short for several more days.

Wilkin Castillo has as much business on the major league roster as Darnell McDonald. None.
The Sox traded Bullfrog the only player they've got for Shottenhoffen. Four-eyes Shottenhoffen a utility infielder. They've got a whole team of utility infielders.

    Goodness.

I don't even know what to say anymore. There is nothing better in the minors than Castillo?

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

If Wilkin Castillo faced Wirfin Obispo, which one would be the Hobbit?

Danny Richar had a miserable April but he's hitting .328/.381/.500 - .881 in May. I'd much rather see him up here than Castillo.

I think it's got more to do with the 40-man roster than who's better, doesn't it? I figured it had to be either Castillo or Sutton.

What's the frustration? Who should be brought up? Any ideas? I see Richar mentioned, but Castillo provides much more flexibility he plays catcher, and outfield, and probably in an emergency can play some infield too.

Castillo hasn't hit well so far but he's done better in previous years. With Castillo Reds can use Hanigan, Nix, or Gomes to pinch hit and not worry about saving them to play catcher or outfield. Castillo can be the bench insurance for those positions if needed later in the game.

If Phillips is lost for an extended period, that is a real tough break. So Reds get the Votto/Phillips tandem back for all of one game.

Reds have enough trouble with lefties, now both EE and Phillips out. Ugh.
