    Predictions for May

Alright we got the month of April completed and we finished 11-10.

Here are the games for the month of May:

    May 1-3 @ Pitt
    May 4-5 @ Fla
    May 6-7 VS MIL
    May 8-10 VS STL
    May 11-13 @ ARI
    May 15-17 @ SD
    May 19-21 VS PHI
    May 22-24 VS CLE
    May 25-27 VS HOU
    May 29-31 @ MIL

My prediction for the month of May: 20-8
Alot of you are probably going to think my prediction is a WAY off, but I disagree I think the offense is going to improve this month, the pitching is only going to get better and so will the defense.

Here's to a big month from the 2009 Reds

I say 17-10 with one rain out
because at the end of the day, they still are the Chicago Cubs, and they will figure out a way to screw this whole thing up--Marty B.

16-12 would be possible if some bats come around, but I'm thinking 14-14. Still leaves them over .500 by a game.

    Re: Predictions for May

    18-10.

Cleveland and San Diego suck. Milwaukee is overrated. St. Louis and Philly will give us problems. We seem to struggle against Houston at home. I think we can take 2 of 3 from 'Zona. Pitt is a tough out because of their pitching, but so are we. I think we go into Florida and do pretty well.

I really think our offense will improve this month.

I am also encouraged by Volquez's efficient outing last night. He and Cueto really have it going. Hopefully Harang can continue, and Arroyo's bad outings are far and few between. Owings had a good outing......I hope he can build on it, and the bullpen continues to be mostly lights out.

I think it only gets better from here on out, but who knows?

    May 29-31 @ MIL 2-1

That leaves me with a 16-12 prediction. I would gladly take that. Stay over .500 each month and see where that puts us come September. I would think we should be in the WC hunt, if that happens.
Just realized that I have them going 5-1 on a "west coast" road trip. Given the recent past on trips out west (or at least the perception I have), that might be a bit optimistic. However, I think most of the problems the Reds have had out west included stops in LA and SF.

    My prediction : 15 - 13

    May 1-3 @ Pitt 2-1
    May 4-5 @ Fla 1-1
    May 6-7 VS MIL 1-1
    May 8-10 VS STL 2-1

    May 22-24 VS CLE 2-1
    May 25-27 VS HOU 2-1
    May 29-31 @ MIL 1-2

If they can manage 2 games over .500 each month = a 87 win season !!! We are 1 game under that pace now. THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING TO BUILD ON

    Re: Predictions for May

    17-11

I think some bats will wake up, some chemistry will be built upon, and the pitching will get even better. I'd like to see Gomes get called up, and Janish play more.

28-21 by the end of May would be nice.
