Taveras lunges at pitches and looks bad hitting right now.
I agree. Even if Dickerson gets the bunt down successfully, Taveras wouldn't get the run in and you got Hairston up with 2 out. Frankly, Taveras is an offensive wet blanket, especially at the top.

To me, by not bunting you are saying you give Dickerson a better chance of getting a hit than Taveras getting a hit, getting a sac fly, or getting a bunt base hit.
This is the ol Left Hander rounding third and heading for home.

You simply do not know this game. Ever.
Coffey hasn't come close to pitching as well as Burton did the past 2 seasons.

With the exception of Hanigan and one Hernandez swing the offense has been dog-awful tonight. Just terrible. They got drunk on horrible Houston pitching and ran into a strike-throwing buzzkill tonight.

Who cares about the past? My point is--everyone thought Burton was the heir apparent to the closer's role while Coffey was junk. Nope. Wrong again (myself included). Tough game to figure out.

Another two run homer by Hanigan or hernandez would be nice

If Phillips is able to hit, why in the world would you allow Chris Dickerson to hit if your choice is to swing away? I understand it's righty/righty but Phillips has been on fire.
