I think Ben Sheets is still available.

But seriously, there's no reason for him to be in there. Don't often disagree with Dusty, but this is stupid.

And you have to give credit to Aaron. They guy is still out there pitching in the 8th inning. Not a bad outing for the guy at all IMO. Did more then his job in keeping us in this game. Pretty solid start IMO.

Why? He's at 110 pitches and he's been pretty darned solid since about the 2nd inning. When he's gotten into trouble he's worked his way out of it. He's on a short leash now though I say. 2 poor pitches since the 2nd...just both to Pujols unfortunately.

    11 pitch inning from Aaron for a 1-2-3 8th. 3-1 heading to the 9th.

Except he gave in twice to the only hot bat on the entire squad. The rest of this lineup is in a ferocious slump, but he lets Pujols beat him.

True, but only 2 bad pitches after the 2nd...that's a quality start IMO.

I barely realized it was the 8th......bad pitching to Pujols more than anything ruined a good start for AH..
How many times in the last 20 years have you seen both pitchers throw CG in the same game.

It feels like 1968 to me....... Nelson Briles defeats George Culver.

Another short pop out to Ludwick. Reds down to their last out.

He didn't "let" Pujols do anything, other then what Pujols characteristically is known to do quite consistently.

Ground out to short. Game over.

Split the series 2-2. Tough loss but the Reds acquitted themselves very nicely after the Brewers sweep. With Mil. losing we didn't lose any ground at least. Gotta find that silver lining.

CG's by both starters. 6 DP's turned in the game. Pretty darned good game...shame we're on the wrong end of it.
