Shumaker singles through the left side. One on, one out.

I'm afraid I won't be able to continue with play by play at the moment. May be back later.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Rasmus pops up to Gonzo in shallow left. 2 down.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

I said it the other night, why would you ever pitch to him? Make Ludwick beat you.
This is the ol Left Hander rounding third and heading for home.

Will Reds pitchers honestly ever learn? You don't let Pujols beat you with men on base. It's that simple. Arroyo screwed this up too. Walk him. Let Ludwick try to beat you.

    Idiots.

I was too slow. I couldn't get it quite turned quick enough to avoid George Grande's excited tone.

I am sorry. I know it's been said. By everyone. But, really, really, really, really, this is complete horse post-digestive matter that Grande is foisted on a partisan Reds fanbase with his excitement for the Cardinals. I hate it. I hate the Reds for making the fans deal with that year after year. It is past funny now. It has moved up to plain cruel.

Hopefully Harang pitching to Pujols with two outs didn't ruin your appetite. Ouch, not a very bright move there. I would be pitching around Pujols with two outs 100 times out of 100. Well, I guess if the bases were loaded I would consider pitching to him. ;-)

Can't give Pujols that kind of pitch to hit.

I've been as skeptical of Gonzo as anybody, but his defense has been VERY solid this year. Swipes a hit from Ludwick to end the inning. 2-0 Cruds after 3

Harang looking no better than Owings recently. Not horrible, just 5 slot material. Even many of his outs are crushed. I wish he was hurt so there was some sound explanation and he's trying to gut it out. Otherwise...

I think the Reds are the only team that hasn't gotten that memo (pitch around Pujols with men on base and two outs).

No one complained when they pitched to Pujols in the first inning and he hit into a Phillips.

Walking Pujols with a runner on first will hurt you more than it will help.

    But not this time.
