9 pitchers in 14 rounds and 7 are college arms.

Oakland takes a pitcher from University of Oregon. That's the second UO guy today- impressive for a program that is only a year back into action after being revived.

Either way, he clearly made too many errors

I think you forgot to add the errors to the chance totals.

    6 errors in 89 chances, or 83/89=.93258, or .933.

Crabbe is not such a good success story.

    5.35 ERA, though only a .241 BAA.

However, the 'eek' part of it: in 72 IP, he did have 65 K's, but also 61 walks

Wow. This must be a "live" arm pick and hope to fix a lot of stuff.

The Marlins just drafted a guy named Sequoyah Stonecipher.

    Fantastic name.

True. If it was a short-term injury or simply a mechanical thing they think they can fix, assuming he's got the 'stuff' it's a good flier.

Great name! He's gotta make the show with that name.

Maybe someone could start a thread with just a list of Reds picks?

We had a HS kid here named Tommy Elkhorn, Rosebud Sioux kid. I remember thinking it was a cryin shame such a cool name wasn't a better player.

I understand the emphasis on pitching. The theory is that you can always trade pitching for hitting but with this draft being so top heavy with pitching I'm wondering who's going to play in the field for Billings and Sarasota this summer?

    Pirates drafted a 19-year-old C named Bako, but it's not Paul's kid.
