    Wasn't Newk's previous start a shutout?
    I ask, because I know he had one previously recently - I thought it might have been his only one with the Reds, but he had two. It would be interesting if he only two shutouts with the Reds came back to back.

    No, Newcombe's last start before this one was a complete-game three-hitter at home vs. the Giants on 6/5/59--a game the Reds won 7-2.
