Bats retake the lead 6-5 on a McD double. Stubbs and Sutton score.
I don't think ANYONE will be sent up from Carolina until the first half of the Southern League season is over. Or if Carolina is eliminated, the call ups could begin. Either way, it won't be long.
Richar 3 for 4 with a double and a few bonehead plays
Stubbs 2 for 3 with a walk
Bankston 2 for 4 with a HR
Bats up 7-5 at the stretch

Pedro Viola throws a 1-2-3 8th with a groundout and two strikeouts against the 3-4-5 hitters. Nice job by the Louisville bullpen so far.

Stubbs singles to center to begin the 9th inning and then steals his 21st base. He's 3-for-4 today with a walk and SB.
Glad they're letting him run a lot more. His speed is a weapon that should help increase his productivity when he makes the majors.
Stubbs has proven me completely wrong -- I thought he'd have a tough time sustaining a high OBP with his strikeouts and low power numbers, but he's managed to continue walking at a decent clip (averaging 1 BB per 8 PAs) and maintain his BA at ~.300.
I think he's just about ready to take the next step.

Pedro Viola has allowed 10 runs in 25.1 innings this season (3.55 ERA). Eight of those 10 runs came in one inning spanning two appearances. He's allowed just two runs in those other 24.1 innings. He's very hard to hit (15 hits, 30 K's in 25.1 IP), he just needs to cut down on the walks (17). If/when he does, he has the stuff to be a dominant lefty out of the bullpen.
Wonder if a pitching-poor organization like Washington might give us something for LeCure, especially since their ballpark would help his taterific tendencies...
