SWEET. That makes me very happy. I'm going to one of the games in Cleveland next weekend and would LOVE it if Joey is back with the Reds by then.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search
An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
Awesome news. Let's hope he is feeling better. It sounds like he is.

A two week rehab? Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it.Joey Votto said he's leaving tonight for a minor league rehab.
"That was trhe plan a few days ago," Dusty Baker said.
Baker is aiming for Votto to return to big club on June 30 when they return from the upcoming road trip.
"It's kind of like spring training for him," Baker said. "He's got to get his legs under him. His wind back. We want him super ready for the next three months."
It could be sooner.
"Joey knows himself for a young man," Baker said. "And he's honest."
Caveat: I am not speculating on Votto's "personal issue" but rather addressing why he may need a longer rehab than what would be normally expected when returning from an injury.
if his issue is some kind of anxiety disorder(or maybe tourette's like Eisenreich) the rehab may be a trial run to see if his symptoms return.
I glanced at the title and thought it said, "Votto Going Into Rehab".
Needless to say, that caught my attention.
Haven't seen Joey for awhile....but he looked really relaxed and comfortable on the bench, laughing and at ease w/ his teammates.
Baseball is like church. Many attend, few understand
If the Reds go back to scoring 2.3 runs a game this week, why do I think Joey's timeframe could be accelerated a tad?
I have a love-hate relationship with Albert Pujols. Mostly hate.
No way they speed it up out of team necessity. At least they shouldn't. I think they set it as two weeks on the long end, and told Joey, "Whenever you're ready just give us a call."
Somebody made a good point on Fay's comments:
What better way to deal with stress then to go home?I'm assuming he'll be going to Louisville, 4 games with positive results and join the Reds in Toronto. Family, friends, fun except for the Jays pitchers. I hope to see him on Wednesday from my seat behind first base.
Thing that makes me pause is he did an interview just a couple days before the surprise DL and sounded great and talked like he was fine, etc. etc. This is what shocked me so much. I just hope he is ok they are really going slow with him. Reds need him badly, but I'll take him gone a month to have him for the stretch run as the Reds are hanging in right now and what a jolt getting him back will be.
Great to hear. I'm hoping he's back by Tuesday when the Reds head to Toronto. Hopefully EdE, Volquez, and Votto will all be back by the first of July.
