Owings needed an easy inning here not a good start as Hill doubled. I think Micah may want to think about a move to the outfield at some point. He's an average pitcher who could be a very good hitter.

Why do the Reds even pitch to Rolen?

Owings is a nibble-itis guy. When the nibbles catch the plate early in the count, life is good. When he gets behind, he's gotta groove em. Flashbacks from starters 1 through 5 in the dark years of 2001-2005

Tough when you're getting grounders but they're just finding holes. Not that Owings has been great, but like Harang Sunday, luck hasn't been on his side either.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Announcers talking about bunching speedy leadoff hitters to get the "flow of the offense going". Somebody needs to tell 'em that the "flow" of the offense is called getting on base, not running fast once you get there.

Just tell them, "You can't steal first," over and over. They understand that kind of talk.

4-0 after a Barajas dinger. Surprised he could swing after nearly throwing his back out on strike one.

Reds lining up to lose all three of these games. So much for Toronto being the team needing starting pitching. Oh, to have a Brian Tallet.
