Jeff Mercer is a former HS coach from Franklin, Indiana who had a son Daniel who was an absolute stud athlete that unfortunately was diagnosed with a brain tumor during his junior year of HS. He eventually died but his dad wrote a really great book as a tribute to his son.

Mercer's other son Jeff went on to play baseball at Dayton and then Wright State having graduated just last year.

I bought a copy from Amazon used for less than $2 (if I recall correctly).
I think you'll enjoy reading it.... At one point Dusty talks about how music can effect hitting....
