    Rosales optioned to Louisville

    From Fay's blog:

With the Reds calling up Homer Bailey from Triple-A Louisville to pitch Saturday night, Adam Rosales was optioned to Louisville.

"We tried to play him as much as we could," manager Dusty Baker said. "He just needs to go down and get his confidence back and his stroke back. One thing he did do was he improved defensively, big-time. He's a hard worker, he'll be back."

    Back to 13 pitchers.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I'm praying for the day when the Reds carry 14 (or even 15!) pitchers.

    Eight regulars, 2nd & 3rd Catchers and 15 pitchers. I love it!

Rosales was so bad, I'd like for them to bring him back up just so they can demote him again.

Maybe it's just until they go back to playing the NL......then Dusty can do his 3-4 double switches per game.

I say Fisher goes....due to his recent unsteady pitching....NOT bad...just seems tentative.

    Oh wow.

Sources say Rosales ran really hard all the way to Louisville.

I'd give Walt "Executive of the Year" for that one.

Rosales tore up AAA. when he was first up here he did ok then he got worse and worse. sending him back to AAA for at bats & confidence is a good move.
i for one am not ready to say he isn't a major league player. he still could be a decent bench player at some point in the future. i do think he blew any chance he had of the Reds considering him as an everyday player.

I'd rather have seen Burton go down. Rosales is awful with the bat, but his defense was good. Way better than Hairston playing 3B.

I think that Rosales being sent down is a sign that Encarnacion is close to being ready to return. The Reds have the extra relief pitcher in Cleveland, where they can use the DH, and then they will send down a reliever early next week (maybe Tuesday) to make room for Edwin.
