Until the other guys put up the numbers in AAA Bailey has, it's hard to argue for anybody else. Moving up through each stage of the minors should not be taken for granted.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    Agree.

Do we need to guess who I picked?

I'm one of the dwindling few who still thinks Bailey can be this team's ace by 2011 or 2012. I think Stewart will be the closer and Wood and Leake will be at the back of the rotation somewhere.

    That's my order, too.

This was a very good question, though.

Probably the best poll question I've seen in a long time.

Considering that some of these players aren't going to be in the Majors until 2011, and won't be effective in the Majors until 2012 or 2013, I'd like to have about 11 arms waiting in the wings. 7 would be the minimum number.

I'm not far from you on this level of hopefulness about Bailey. The surprise I think could be Leake, potentially maybe much better than a 4 or 5 guy. Very accomplished kid really--lots of fastball movement, hard breaking stuff, good change. I really hope the arm is sound.
