Bases loaded with 1 out and the heart of the order up...1 run scored on a sac fly. *sigh*

Nix flies out to shallow right to end the inning. 6-2 after 8.

Just not enough offensive production out of a bases-loaded with one out situation.

I could accept it if it was the bottom of the order due up at the time, but the 4 & 5 hitters? Nope.

Nice inning by Roenicke. Very impressed with him.

3 up 3 down for Josh Roenicke. Nice to see him get some action. Unfortunately it's in a losing situation most likely, but still nice to see. I think this kid's got closer written all over him.

Let's see if Ramon Hernandez can pull off the impressive, yet rarely accomplished, 5 run lead-off walk-off homerun.

I didn't see him on The List, so probably not.

LOL. 2 down bottom of the ninth and we're down 4 runs...NOW Dusty brings in Dickerson.

if he doesn't come through, it'll be August before we see him again.

I guess that depends on what you were wanting him to do there. If you were wanting a strikeout there...then he came through with flying colors. Hopefully that means we'll see him a bit sooner than August. :O)

If seven fielders threw their gloves at the ball and hit it, Ramon would be awarded 21 bases, equalling five homeruns and a single, and everybody would walk off except Ramon, who would be circling the bases for quite some time.

    Sadly, it didn't happen.

With this offense, good pitching dominates the Reds and they can sometimes score some runs against bad pitching. Unfortunately, the Arizona pitcher was his usual competent self (as either Marty or Thom said tonight, he is a true ace who pitches well 99% of the time unlike our so-called aces who are hit and miss) so we didn't have a chance from the start. Like taking a knife to a gunfight (bad cliche, I know).

Walt? You see this? Oh, yeah I forgot. We're only 3 games out, right?

I sat this one out. So stone me.
