With the recent GCL game being rained out, do they usually play double headers to make up for them or what?

The GCL Reds are playing a doubleheader with the GCL Red Sox on July 4th to make up for the rained out game from a few days ago.

Anyone in the chat with Bob Miller on mlb.com this morning? Just curious if anything worthwhile has been discussed.

11:36 am What are the chances of the Reds signing Humberto Valor, the VZ shortstop? Are the Reds in on anymore July 2nd prospects?

11:38 am We have made major strides in signing great Latin talent over the past few years. We have seen all of the best talent down there and expect to be in the hunt for several of the better players

Todd Frazier just doubled for the 30th time this season. He may reach 50 doubles at this pace.

Any idea if most of Frazier's doubles are gap shots or wallbangers which have a chance of leaving GABP?

I remember that Votto was a "doubles" hitter in the minors.

Re: Wednesday 7/1/09 minor league updates

I forgot to mention this last night.

Ezequiel Infante threw two more shutout innings last night for Billings. He's a little 5-foot-10, 152 pound left handed from the Dominican Republic. He posted a 0.19 ERA in 47 innings with the DSL Reds last season. So far with Billings he has thrown 5.1 shutout innings with 2 BB/6 K.

9th rounder Brian Pearl threw two no-hit innings last night with 1 BB/4 K.

    3rd rounder Donnie Joseph (3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB/5 K) has pitched well too.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

Frazier has more than enough power to produce 25+ Bombs a year.
