    Thursday 7/2/09 minor league updates

    Busy day.

    Louisville plays a doubleheader with game one getting underway at 5:30. RHP Ramon Ramirez will start game one. Not sure about game two.

    Carolina - 7:15 - RHP Jordan Smith

    Sarasota also plays a doubleheader. Game one is about to start. LHP Travis Webb will start the first game while RHP Luis Montano is scheduled to start game two.

    Dayton - 7:00 - RHP Lance Janke

    Billings - 9:05 - LHP Justin Walker

    The GCL Reds were postponed due to wet grounds.

    The DSL Reds played at 10:30. No boxscore yet.

    Scott Carroll is starting game one for Sarasota. He allowed three runs in the first inning.

    Sarasota scores two runs in the first inning on singles by Mesoraco and Phipps followed by a 2-run double by Neftali Soto.

    Just a note on Mesoraco - He has thrown out 46% of the last 28 attempted base stealers against him. After starting out the season at 2 of 32, he is 13 of his last 28.

    Stubbs singles (2 for 3) and then EE grounds to third. The 3B throws to second and Stubbs was already standing on the bag. Blue called him out.
