    Planning for Albert

The Reds begin a three game set with the Cardinals on Friday where they will have their hands full with the best hitter in the game. If you are Dusty Baker and Dick Pole how do you direct your pitching staff to approach this one man wrecking crew.

    Pujols for the season .337 30hrs 77 RBI's .460 OBP .745 SLG .1205 OPS
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

I don't have a very good feeling about this series. With Volquez out, and Cueto/Harang having pitched the last two games, the Cards will miss our top three starters. That, combined with our terrible offense is a recipe for a bad series. The Reds need to find a way to win at least one game in this series.

Pitch to him. At least someone will score some runs.

If we aren't up by 5 runs, walk him. If we are and no one is on base, pitch to him.

He averages .745 bases per AB when he isn't walked. If there are runners on base, walk him. If not, pitch to him... carefully.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    Strike him out.

62 BB, 32 K. I sure would like to see us help him even that ratio out... I'm just afraid of the results if we try. Shame the Cards will miss Cueto and Harang...

2nd hardest ball I ever saw hit was at the GAB 1st game after the 2004 AS break by Albert, it was a ROCKET and was out of the park in 2 seconds.

    Planning for Albert
We're only making plans for Albert
We only want what's best for him
We're only making plans for Albert
Albert just needs this helping hand
And if young Albert says he's happy
    He must be happy
He must be happy in his work

    Re: Planning for Albert

If Pujols has looked ahead(and I'm sure he has)and noticed the names Bailey, Owings, and especially Arroyo I guess he'll need no 4th of July viagra....the 4 hour erection record will definitely be shattered before tomorrows first pitch
