    Re: Game thread?

Why bat Dickerson ahead of Taveras if you're going to play them both. At least get the advantage of the lefty batting second with a guy on first. Or is that just because there's no expectation of having Taveras on first....?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

It wasn't even a close at second either. The bases looked to be about 5 feet closer than they should be on that one....

Rasmus hit the first pitch he saw out over the RCF fence for a 1-0 lead. Otherwise, good first inning for Micah.

    Bot 1:

Dickerson runs the count full then grounded out to 1B

Willy T takes an 0-2 curve and lines it to CF for a single.

Votto takes strike one and Willy T steals 2nd easily on the pitch.

Votto w/ a triple past Pujols that scores Willy T.

    Re: Game thread?

Lineup looks much more similar to a Major League quality lineup with EE in there.

Phillips has just one job to do with JV on third right now. Get it done BP.

BP HBP, but the ump says 'nuh-uh' and he stays at home plate w/ a 2-2 count.

Then takes inside, ball 3, full count.

He draws a BB. Nice AB, even though he wanted the rbi.

    Come on Bruuuuuuuuuce!

I'm thinking Bruce is going 3 run jack right here. Thompson is his kind of pitcher.

Was it that the ump didn't see the HBP or the ump said he didn't try to avoid it.

Pujols is the perfect baseball player.

    Re: Game thread?

Gameday had that pitch 6 inches outside, and yet Bruce pulls one to Pujols? Is that accurate?>
